Easy guys.. Right, a bit of a problem:

I'm trying to use a bass sound that I've saved as WAV within the NN-XT sampler, however whenever I play a different note on my keyboard I find that the tempo of the sound shifts along with the change in pitch. Is there anything I can do to stop this, or am I going to have to save each individual note as a WAV before putting it into the sampler itself?

Cheers, Dan.

I'm not quite sure if I'm following you...would this prevent the tempo from shifting up or down with each respective key? 'Cos that's what I'm trying to do..

I tried the alternative method I was on about, and it's worked, but it's bit of a long-winded way of going about it  Undecided

Oh and yeah, it's a kick-arse sampler  Slayer

I dont think the nn-xt has the capabilities for what you want to do.
the only way is like youve already said which is to do multiple pitchshifts of the sample.

the whole nature of samplers work just by pitching sounds via the keys in semi-tone increments. which will result in the sample becoming shorter the higher you go, and obviously longer if you play down.
there are some samplers that will allow you this capability, cant remember off the top of my head... but i dont think in reason you will be able to use them.

the best way to extend a bass sound is to loop it, but obviously depending on the nature of the sound this can be tricky.

Ahhh I see, cheers Lethal..

See it's a sound I've made in massive, and I love the sound but obviously I can't use it via the synth though Reason without Rewiring it to Cubase or something. Which is a bit of a shame as I love the modulation capabilities of Massive  Sad

On the looping front, I've got an LFO heavily modulating the cutoff filter, so when it reaches the end of the sound I've saved it comes to an abrupt and out-of-time stop.. Which is a bit of a shitter, but it's such a good LFO  Grin

if you got an LFO on the filter it might actually mask the loop if the loop is a bit sketchy.
i cant remember what looping features the nn-xt has, and obviously the nature of the sound you have comes into play
but if you made the sound in massive the best thing to do is retake the sample but make it alot longer... I normally make a bass sound around 8 bars long just to be sure  Grin
