Production = DJ Style?
«

I know there are a lot of ways to DJ music or ones own music that are very different from one another.
My question is, what effect does new technology have on production style. I'm talking about the pacing of tracks, or the format producers use.
Specifically It seems like a lot of the long breakdowns in newer dnb are more suited for a virtual environment.
Any thoughts?

the way i mix definitely influences the way i make my tunes...
i prefer shorter intros, and time keepers in breakdowns (hats or something regimented)
im always thinking "if you dropped a tune that long there it would drop there"
obviously i dont religously stick to anything, but yes i think the 2 are interlinked

yep. think like lethal!
as i am not a man for breaks or intros i pretty shit on em i gotta say. i mean how many intros do people like to hear during a set beeing played, maximum one or two if i may speek for myself. so thats why my mixing is mostly without much breaks, probably 2 -4 of 16 bars during a one hour set is enough for me. so for me an intro needs deffo a timekeeper like a hat or some reduced kicks or drums or so.
cheers
